About
Dr. Edgar Mendieta
Dr. Mendieta had lived and visited many places around the world before meeting his love, Tina. They both live locally, here in Columbus, with their four children Vienna, Victoria, Capri, Lochlan, and their puggle, Lulu.

Dr. Mendieta received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and went to dental school at the University of the Pacific, in San Francisco. After practicing general dentistry, Dr. Mendieta became an orthodontist upon completion of an orthodontic speciality program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was past President of the Cleveland Society of Orthodontists and is the current President of the Ohio Association of Orthodontists.

Juan Concha Perez
Hi, I’m Juan. I’m originally from Mexico City, but I was raised in Columbus, Ohio. My primary language is Spanish, and my secondary language is English—I love both equally. Dentistry is my passion, and I want to share my experiences with future dental assistants. I am currently majoring in biology, and after completing my degree, I plan to go to dental school. In my free time, I enjoy watching soccer games and hiking in the mountains.

Yara Shehata
My name is Yara Shehata and I am currently a lead assistant at Global Smiles Orthodontics. I am a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and became licensed in 2023. I am originally from Alexandria Egypt, but moved to Ohio at a young age and have lived in Columbus ever since. Even though I am fully Egyptian, I am fluent in Spanish and English. In my spare time I like to stay active, mainly at the gym, but on my rest days I enjoy playing volleyball and soccer. I am currently enrolled in CSCC to pursue my dream of becoming an Orthodontist, so I can continue to help bring people confidence in their smile.
